Former women's Ohio State basketball player Kelsey Mitchell was truly an all-time great Buckeye. When she was a freshman at Ohio State, she scored the second-most points of any freshman in NCAA history. She was a three-time winner of the Big Ten Player of the Year award.

Mitchell was a three-time Second-team All-American and a First-Team All-American one time in her four-year career. She is the all-time scorer in Ohio State women's basketball history and is an Ohio State Hall of Fame Inductee. Mitchell was inducted in the class of 2023.

After her accomplishments with the Buckeyes, she was the second overall pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever. While the Fever haven't been very good, she has been excellent. She was named an All-Star in 2023. She was just named an All-Star for the second straight season as well.

Mitchell is one of three Fever players to be named to the All-Star team. Mitchell is averaging 16.3 points per game and is shooting almost 40% from three this season. She is one of the key members of the offense for them while playing next to Caitlin Clark.

While Mitchell never had as good of a team in college as the Buckeye women were in the last two years, she was still an all-time great. When she was on campus, she was the best basketball player Ohio State had on either the men's or the women's side of things.

The next step for Mitchell is to have some team success. The Fever are fighting to make the playoffs right now. She is going to be the best that she can to help the team make the playoffs and have some success once they get there. This is her seventh year with the Fever and she's yet to make the playoffs.
