Ex-Ohio State basketball players on Carmen's Crew make semifinals
By Ryan Stano
Former Ohio State basketball players have been playing in The Basketball Tournament since it started back in 2014. Most of the time, they have done it under the name Carmen's Crew. They won it all back in 2019. They have been chasing that championship since.
This year's team has Jared Sullinger on it. He is one of the best former Ohio State Buckeyes to be playing in TBT since it started. His presence has clearly been beneficial because Carmen's Crew keeps running through opponents. They did so again on Monday.
Carmen's Crew took down Takeover BC 90-74 to advance to the semifinals. They now have one more game to play to make it back to the championship game. While there aren't as many former Buckeyes on the team as there have been in the past, the ones that are playing have been great.

Andrew Wesson was the big scorer for Carmen's Crew against Takeover BC. He scored 16 points on 6/7 shooting from the field, including 4/5 from three. His shooting was the catalyst for this blowout. Sullinger added seven points of his own as well as ten rebounds.
Keyshawn Woods added nine points off the bench on 4/10 shooting. The other former Ohio State basketball player who helped win this game was Kaleb Wesson, who added six points and seven rebounds. Kyle Young, the other former Buckeye on the team, did not play.
These former Buckeyes have a real shot to win it this year. They were a 3-seed coming into the tournament and have already knocked out the number-one seed on their side of the bracket. There is just one more foe to vanquish before making the finals and getting a shot at a championship.
