When Tony Alford decided to leave the Ohio State football program for Michigan, there's a reason why Buckeye fans weren't that concerned. They were more annoyed than anything that he decided to go to the one school that he should hate the most. They weren't actually mad about losing him as a coach.

It's clear that those Ohio State football fans were justified in their feelings. Alford has struggled in his new role. Meanwhile, Carlos Locklyn has proven to be a great hire in his stead. After landing a top running back in the state of Ohio, Locklyn landed another running back recruit on Sunday.

Locklyn got a commitment from Isaiah West, a four-star running back from Philadelphia. He goes to St. Joseph's Prep, which is where both Kyle McCord and Marvin Harrison Jr. both hail from. West is the latest attendee from that school to now choose Ohio State.

West decided after his unofficial visit to Ohio State last month to de-commit from Kentucky. He then took an official visit to Columbus this week, so you could tell that it was trending this way. West is someone who can do a lot of things pretty well even if he doesn't do anything great.

That's part of the reason why his ranking is all over the place on various sites. He's a really good player though who should keep getting better which some collegiate coaching. He's now the second running back in the 2025 class to join the Buckeyes, so he'll have some competition to get playing time.
