Best memes and tweets summing up Justin Fields' day in NFL free agency
By Ryan Stano
A bunch of former Ohio State football players have already found new homes in the first few hours of free agency. It was expected that Justin Fields would be among them, although he wouldn't be signing a new deal. He was expected to be traded very early in free agency.
That hasn't happened yet. As of this publication, he is still a Chicago Bear. Chicago is expected to take Caleb Williams the first overall pick and make a change at the quarterback position. The time in Chicago just hasn't worked for either party and it's time for a change.
For some reason, he hasn't been moved. Perhaps the Bears' asking price is too high for him? It's unclear, but NFL fans don't care though. They are having a field day on X (formerly known as Twitter) with memes and tweets. Here are some of the best ones.
I do think that Fields will eventually get moved. I'm not sure what the compensation will be, but he's still a good quarterback. Minnesota could be a destination with Kirk Cousins off the Atlanta. There are still a few teams that need quarterbacks. He should find himself on one of them.
Fields just needs a fresh start with an organization that will actually invest in getting some help. The former Buckeye is one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the NFL. If he has a halfway decent offensive line and some receivers to throw the ball to, I think he can be a franchise quarterback.
Fields is still a former Ohio State football player that fans love. He's a great person and is still a good quarterback. I do think the tweets and memes are pretty funny though. He should be able to laugh at all of them once he finally does have a new team.
