How two former Ohio State football players could affect the outcome of the Super Bowl
By Ryan Stano
Super Bowl Sunday is almost here. It's the final football game we will have until the Fall (unless you care at all about the UFL, which I do not). The Ohio State football program has two players who are represented in the game and they both play on the same team.
Nick Bosa and Chase Young are on the 49ers defensive line and they have a chance to affect the outcome of the game in a big way. Bosa has already established himself as one of the best players in the entire league and is a game-wrecker all on his own.
Young has been disappointing as a pro but he is still a physical freak. The Chiefs will have to worry about Bosa on one side of the line, leaving Young one-on-one to wreck the other side. If he shows what he did when he was with the Ohio State football team, Kansas City is in trouble.
Bosa has 10.5 sacks this year while Young has just 7.5, which is the most since his rookie year. Young is in a contract year. If he wants a big contract in the offseason, this would be the best possible game to show out in. If he has two or three sacks and the 49ers win, he could make himself tens of millions of dollars.
I truly think the Chiefs will have issues blocking Bosa. While their offensive line has gotten better this year, they still probably won't be good enough to contain one of the best pass rushers in the league. I'd be shocked if he didn't have at least one sack in this game.
I'm not sure who's going to win on Sunday, but I know I'm rooting for a couple of former Ohio State Buckeyes to win a Super Bowl ring.
