The Ohio State football program lost Tony Alford to Michigan in the middle of Spring practice, They had to replace their running backs coach at a time that they weren't expecting to, which was frustrating for Ryan Day. He did eventually find Carlos Locklyn to replace him.

Locklyn has thrived in Columbus so far while Alford has floundered. Ohio State made the right choice to let him go. More running back recruits seem to be responding to Locklyn than they are to Alford. Alford isn't the only Ohio State football staffer to be heading to Michigan this offseason though.

According to Eleven Warriors, Erin Dunston is heading to Ann Arbor to join Michigan. She was Ohio State's assistant AD of football recruiting and events. Now, she's leaving Michigan to be their new director of operations. She joins Alford as a Buckeye to leave for their rival team.

Dunston had been with the Buckeyes for the last three years. She actually just got a promotion in February to her current title with Ohio State. Despite this, she has moved on to Michigan to take on a role with a higher title than they one she held in Columbus.

Now, the Buckeyes will have another staffer to replace. This one isn't quite as pertinent for the football team's operations as far as the product on the field is concerned. Still, it's something that they weren't expecting to have to do. It would be nice to stop losing staffers to Michigan.

What does this mean for the team at large? Not much. Dunston handled the logistics of some recruiting visits, but the Buckeyes can get someone else to help with that fairly easily. It won't affect the team itself as they prepare for what will be a very critical 2024 season for many.
