Former Ohio State football player C.J. Stroud was drafted by the Texans in 2023. With the addition of Stefon Diggs, many expect that the Texans could have a real chance at getting deep in the playoffs. This year in the draft the Texans drafted another Buckeye, Cade Stover, reuniting him with Stroud.

The Texans traded with The Eagles for the No. 123rd pick in the draft, and with that pick, they got Cade Stover. Both Stroud and Stover have seemed excited to be able to play on the same team again. When playing together at Ohio State Cade Stover was a pretty good option for Stroud in almost any point of the game. They were one of the best quarterback-tight-end connections in the nation.

They are both really close to each other, even after Stroud's huge success in his first year Stover said he wasn't surprised. He said that he just always knew that he was really special.

Coty Davis from the Texans Daily site shared a quote from Stover talking about his former teammate.

"After meeting with the Texans at the NFL Combine, Stover said on Feb. 27 that it would mean so much to reunite with his former teammate. Three months to the date, the Texans made Stover a fourth-round pick (No. 123 overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft.

It's just such an honor to play with C.J. again — they've got something really special going on down there in Houston, Stover said during his post-draft media availability on Saturday. We've stayed in touch pretty well. He is an awesome human and an even better teammate.""

Next. Next Story. A team on Ohio State's schedule who might end up being better than people think. dark

It should be pretty cool to see their connection carry into the NFL and see how well they will work. I'm willing to bet Stover will still be a favorite target.
