A freshman is already the best player on the Ohio State football team
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team dominated Michigan State to the tune of 38-7. It was another solid performance from one of the best teams in the country. It was the first road game of the year and the first Big Ten game, so it was a solid victory knowing those things.
In this game, the offense was the story for the Buckeyes. They weren't really stopped or even slowed down except for a horrendous Will Howard interception. In this game, we also found out who Ohio State's best player is. It's someone who wasn't expected to take that mantle until next season.
That player is wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. Smith has already scored six touchdowns in his young career. He's scored one in every game this season and has already proven to be the best weapon that the Ohio State Buckeyes have. He's only going to get better too.

Smith had two of the best catches of the season in the first half against the Spartans. Those showed that he can make tough catches. If you throw the ball anywhere near him, chances are that he's going to be able to come down with it. That's the mark of a special player.
What's also the mark of a special player is what he can do on the simple catches. He's able to take a simple slant route to the house in the blink of an eye. He did that against Western Michigan. The Buckeyes also got him involved in the run game with a reverse and he scored on that too.
Smith is already the best player for the Ohio State Buckeyes and he's just four games into his collegiate career. Imagine how good he's going to be when he actually starts to figure things out. He's going to be flat-out unstoppable.
