The Ohio State football program is enjoying its bye weeks right now. They had finished their non-conference portion of their schedule and will now only be playing Big Ten teams for the rest of the regular season. They are ranked as the number-one team in the country, and they are playing like it.
The rest of the schedule for the Buckeyes isn't that tough, although one of the toughest games was supposed to be at Illinois. That game is scheduled for next month, and now it looks like a much easier game after what just happened on Saturday night. The Ohio State Buckeyes have to feel better about that game.
Illinois got absolutely trounced by Indiana on Saturday, losing 63-10. It was a game that saw the Illini give up over 300 yards rushing, which is something that the Buckeyes have struggled with so far this season. Now, they have to feel much better about running the ball in that matchup.

The Buckeyes saw how the Hoosiers attacked them, so they know what will work against them when they travel to Champaign. Julian Sayin will be able to carve them up through the air, as well. Ohio State's offense is able to score explosively, so Illinois might be having another massive loss.
Of course, there are other games on the schedule before that game that they need to worry about more. They take on Washington next week, which will be a cross-country trip. Ohio State is already preparing for that trip, and they feel good about it.
Ohio State is going to be one of the best teams in the country, no matter who they play. The Illinois trip is no longer as scary as it once was.
