It's that time of year where recruiting is going into overdrive for Ryan Day and Ohio State. Plenty of official visits are around the corner and the Buckeyes are also working their magic for some flips before the summer months get here. Well, there's a new name for people to pay close attention to: Munir Lewis.

Ohio State gets incredible update on Ryan Day's top 5-star RB target visiting May 29

A playmaker for Brush High in Cleveland, the 6-5, 245-pounder has been hearing more from the Buckeyes of late and he didn't hold back in saying that he's listening to what Ohio State is working to sell him on. On3's Mick Walker was all over the story, as the Louisville commit is certainly being given something to think about from Day and his staff:

Ohio State is pushing to steal Louisville commit Munir Lewis away from Jeff Brohm

Don't let Lewis' 3-star ranking fool you - this kid is a stud and there's a reason Day and Matt Patricia are liking the idea of him potentially staying closer to home to play for the Buckeyes than leaving for ACC country with the Cardinals. The fact that Lewis told Walker he was listening to Ohio State's pitch too sure is eye-opening.

Does this mean he's on flip watch? Not quite, but it has been made clear that things are heating up a little bit between the two sides. Lewis has been a wanted man this cycle, picking up 21 total offers. Throughout his recruitment, Ohio State, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan State and others have been trying to impress him.

For now, Lewis is ACC-bound for his college ball, but with the Early Signing Period not getting here until December, there's more than enough time for Day to get Lewis to change his mind. And with that, an official visit to Columbus could end up being what helps send things over the top for the Big Ten side.

Over the next month or so, Day is set to bring in more than 30 prospects for official visits. This includes players who are already committed, while the staff will work to put the finishing touches on other top targets. Lewis is headed to Louisville on May 29, and then he'll be making his way to Virginia Tech on June 12 to meet with James Franklin.

Could Day get him on campus at some point in June to really kick the flip efforts into overdrive? That's something Ohio State is working on, as the drive from Cleveland to Columbus is only a little over two hours. Day can remind Lewis how close he'd be, with family and friends being not too far away to watch him play his college ball. That alone will be something Lewis keeps in the back of his head until he makes his final call.
