The Ohio State basketball team made the NCAA Tournament for the first time in four seasons. Captain Bruce Thornton had never played in March Madness in his illustrious career. He is the all-time leading scorer for the Ohio State Buckeyes, so it hasn't been his fault.
Thornton is one of the best players in the Big Ten Conference and is the key to the Buckeyes winning games. He understands how long it took them to get there. This is his final season of college basketball, so he wants to live it up as much as he can, even if they only last one round.
In the first round, the Buckeyes took on TCU. They entered the game as slight favorites to beat the Horned Frogs. During the broadcast, the CBS crew gave a nugget about how much Thornton was trying to soak up the experience since he had never been there before.

CBS Sports sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson ran a piece on Thornton doing everything he can to enjoy the experience.
"Thornton told me at practice he got goosebumps walking out onto the court. He's grabbing anything and everything with his name on it."@TracyWolfson says playing in the tournament for the first time in his 4 years at Ohio State is extra special for Bruce Thornton. pic.twitter.com/1vLkS2Uxlw

"Thornton told me at practice he got goosebumps walking out onto the court. He's grabbing anything and everything with his name on it."
That piece ran very early in the game, and the Buckeyes did not live up to the hype in the first half. They had a 15-point halftime deficit, which shows that Thornton's NCAA Tournament experience might not last very long. He is one of the greatest players in the history of the Buckeyes.
Even if the Buckeyes don't last long in March Madness, Thornton has done everything he possibly can for this team over the last four years. Ohio State fans should be happy with what Thornton has given them when he could easily have left them behind in the Transfer Portal.
