There are few trolls who get on Ohio State's fans' nerves more than Desmond Howard. Unfortunately, he has had a prominent voice in college football media for quite a while. As one of the mainstays of ESPN College Gameday, he loves to twist the Buckeyes in any way he can.

It's rare that Howard gives the Ohio State Buckeyes any praise, even when they deserve it. There's a good chance he tries to defend the fact that TTUN actually beat Western Michigan uncontroversially. Now, the Buckeyes have decided to troll Howard in the perfect way.

Ohio State trolls Desmond Howard with a smart social media post

While celebrating the fact that no team has more appearances on College Gameday than Ohio State, they trolled Desmond Howard by cropping him out of the post.

It's a subtle shot, but an effective one. This is the type of troll that won't get anyone in trouble. It's harmless, and Howard might even find it a bit funny. Of course, that won't stop Howard from likely saying something stupid about the Buckeyes this Saturday.

The Buckeyes are not worried about what Howard says whenever he opens his mouth. He almost never has anything smart or reasonable to say when it comes to Ohio State or Michigan. That continues to be the case, and he gets booed every time he comes to Columbus for a reason.

Ignoring the troll, it is impressive that Ohio State has the most appearances. That not only shows their relevance but also their willingness to schedule tough games. They don't shy away from playing big-time non-conference games. Some schools only play cupcake teams. Not the Buckeyes.

That's something that Howard likely won't give Ohio State any credit for. Until recently, TTUN hardly scheduled any tough opponents outside of the Big Ten, either. That will likely bite them in the butt this week against Oklahoma, as TTUN dropped out of the top 25 after their pathetic showing against WMU.

Ohio State has a chance to make Desmond Howard eat his words

Howard would never pick the Buckeyes to win a national championship, even if they are the top-ranked team in the country. That's exactly what has happened this year. Ohio State looked like the best team, and they are going to prove that ranking against the Longhorns.

In that game, Howard will get to see firsthand how good Ohio State is. Since the Buckeyes will be on the road and playing at night, this might be the most impressive win that anyone has a chance to obtain all season long. Ohio State is an underdog, despite the fact that they are the higher-ranked team.

If the Buckeyes beat Texas for the third straight year, they will claim supremacy over them and the rest of the SEC for the foreseeable future. Ohio State needs to be able to run the ball better to make sure that they are able to do just that. Perhaps then Howard will give them some credit.
