Despite other receivers leaving the Ohio State football program, the best receiver on the team will not be leaving.

The Ohio State football team has had more than a few players leave for the Transfer Portal since it opened on Friday. In fact, three receivers have entered the portal since then. Bryson Rodgers, Mylan Graham, and Quincy Porter have all opted to enter the portal.

Carnell Tate declared for the NFL Draft on Tuesday night, on the same night that Porter entered the portal. Heading into next year, that leaves them with just Jeremiah Smith and Brandon Inniss as receivers who have actually contributed to the team in any capacity.

Smith has seen everything that has gone on around him, and he seems unfazed. Despite Miami fans yet again asking him to come back home, Smith officially shut down any speculation that he would be thinking of leaving the Buckeyes with one social media post.

Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith is not leaving the Buckeyes

Smith took to social media to let everyone know that he is not leaving the Ohio State Buckeyes for what will likely be his final collegiate season.

Ohio State took to social media to show some appreciation for their All-American receiver, as well. Smith will come into next season angry about how this year ended after the Buckeyes lost in embarrassing fashion to his hometown team. Winning a national title next year will be his priority.

Other programs never were going to have a shot at him anyway, but it's good for him to shut down any speculation that he would want to leave. Some rumors had been floating around online that he clearly wanted to put to bed. He will be a Buckeye forever, through and through.

With so many other receivers leaving, the Buckeyes certainly need to bring one in from the Transfer Portal. They don't have much in the way of depth at that position for the first time since Brian Hartline first joined the staff. With him gone, it's going to take some time to build that room up again.
