Ohio State police release statement after pepper spraying Michigan players
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team lost its fourth straight game against Michigan on Saturday afternoon by a score of 13-10. It was a game in which the Buckeyes couldn't get their offense going in any sort of capacity. It was yet another failure from Ryan Day coaching in The Game.
Following the Buckeyes' fourth consecutive loss at the hands of TTUN, a post-game skirmish broke out. Michigan players tried to plant a flag at midfield, just as they did in 2022. The Ohio State Buckeyes weren't having it and met them. A postgame fight ensued.
During the fight at midfield, there was pepper spray deployed by the Ohio State police department. It seemed like it was only directed at Michigan players and several Wolverines could be seen rubbing their eyes. Following scrutiny after that decision, the police department released a statement.

After receiving a ton of criticism, the police department decided to release a statement. You can see the statement below.
There are some reports that some Ohio State football players got pepper sprayed as well. I can't tell what happened based on the videos that were posted on social media after the game. There was a lot going on at midfield following another loss to TTUN in the Ryan Day era.
All of this nonsense could have been avoided had Day actually been able to coach his way to a win in a rivalry game. Instead, the Buckeyes once again lost a game against Michigan. He has run out of excuses. Day also just stood there at midfield during this entire encounter, looking bewildered.
This whole post-game interaction was a giant mess. Ohio State deserves whatever criticism they receive from it. Simply beating a 6-5 team would have avoided all of this.
