Ohio State's Jack Sawyer just shut up every Michigan critic with one quote

Michigan haters need to be quiet once and for all.

Since late November, people all over Michigan have been quick to bash the Ohio State football team. Okay, sure, we'll give the Wolverines credit for taking down Ohio State for the fourth time in a row. You know who no longer cares about that, though? Yeah, that'd be Jack Sawyer.

The main reason for that is that following the loss to Michigan, the Buckeyes went on a dream run in the College Football Playoff and they were able to take home the trophy after beating Notre Dame. It was a dream season for the Buckeyes and one loss to the Wolverines doesn't change a thing.

This is what Sawyer made more than clear while speaking with Will Howard and Ben Roethlisberger. You think Sawyer and Howard would trade the natty for a win over Michigan late in the year? Nope, not a chance the thought of that would ever cross their minds:

Jack Sawyer clapped back at Michigan haters who continue to go after Ohio State

"Winning a national championship," Sawyer said when asked what's more important. "That takes no emphasis on how important the game is, but when you win a national championship - if anyone tells you they'd rather go 1-12 and just beat the team up north, you're crazy. You're playing this game to win championships."

Can we stop acting like Michigan beating Ohio State was more impressive than the Buckeyes winning it all? Yes, props to the Wolverines, they've earned bragging rights, but as Sawyer noted in the clip above, the team moved forward after the stunning loss against their hated rivals.

The defeat vs. Michigan of course was infuriating, but Ohio State flushed things and then could not be stopped in the CFP. Sawyer, Howard, Jeremiah Smith and others were downright electric, leading to the Buckeyes being on top of the world in early January.

The haters continue to go after Ohio State, but that's not going to change the fact that Ryan Day and Co. are the reigning champs and things are once again looking exciting ahead of the '25 campaign. When Michigan and Ohio State face off next, the Buckeyes will hope to post a win, but win or lose, that lone contest doesn't define an entire campaign. It'd be nice if Wolverines fans realized this.
