The Buckeyes are hoping to flip a Penn State recruit on the same day the Nittany Lions visit the Shoe.

The Ohio State football program continues to try to make some headway flipping recruits in the 2026 recruiting class. They have been trying to firm up the 2026 recruiting class with Signing Day just a couple of months away. So far, they have been moderately successful at doing so.

Penn State is visiting the Shoe on Saturday, having lost four straight games. James Franklin is no longer roaming the sidelines, and Terry Smith is coaching the team. The Ohio State Buckeyes have been active in trying to flip some Nittany Lions recruits and have already contacted some of them.

One of the recruits they have been in contact with is four-star offensive lineman Kevin Brown. Brown is a tackle prospect from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, who has been committed to Penn State since July of 2024. Yet, it looks like the Buckeyes could flip him right in front of Penn State.

Ohio State will host a Penn State commit when Penn State visits the Shoe

Even though he's committed to Penn State, Brown will be on a visit with the Buckeyes this weekend when the two teams play this weekend. It's an odd situation that doesn't seem like it's going to end well for the Nittany Lions. Having one of your committed recruits visit the opposing team while you play that team is not ideal.

Brown has also mentioned that he is interested in West Virginia as well, so those are the two main schools that seem to be interested in Brown. Brown has not de-committed from the Nittany Lions, so this would be a true flip situation if the Buckeyes are able to bring him in.

If Ohio State is able to flip him, he would be the sixth offensive lineman in the 2026 class. It would be highly unlikely for them to take anyone else in this class, although they could push out a couple of recruits if some higher on their board become available.

Brown seems very interested in the Ohio State football program, and it wouldn't be shocking to see him flip once the game is over on Saturday afternoon.
