The Ohio State football team is playing like the best team in college football at the moment. They are clearly the most talented team in the country and have shown that in each of their last two performances against Tennessee and Oregon.

Their reward for dispatching both of those programs is Texas. The Buckeyes take on the Longhorns, who have beaten Clemson and Arizona State so far. Neither of those teams are as talented as the Ohio State Buckeyes are, so this is a step up in competition for the Longhorns.

Still, Texas is a good team. The only program that has been able to beat them this season is Georgia, which did so twice. Georgia was knocked out of the CFP. Despite how well Ohio State is playing right now, they have to know that Texas is going to come out and give them their best shot.

Ohio State football vs. Texas early prediction

As of right now, the Buckeyes don't look like they can be stopped. They have scored 83 points in their last two games and have looked completely dominant. The Buckeyes have blitzed their opponents in the CFP very early, scoring the first 21 points against the Volunteers and the first 34 points aginst the Ducks.

Having that kind of scoring punch right out of the gate has overwhelmed their opponents and has forced them out of their game plan. Ohio State is going to try to do the same thing to the Longhorns and they have multiple weapons that can help them do that.

Early prediction: Ohio State football 35 Texas 17

The Buckeyes played a perfect half of football in the first half against the Ducks in the Rose Bowl. Their first half against Tennessee was pretty darn close to that. I find it hard to believe that they continue to run through other CFP teams in the way they've done so far.

With that said, no team in the country has an answer for Jeremiah Smith. He can't be stopped, and he mentioned that on stage after the Rose Bowl. I fully expect him to have another great game against Texas. Smith will likely have over 100 yards of receiving yet again in this game and at least one touchdown.

Texas is a good team. Yet, they can't compare to the Buckeyes right now. That's how much better they are playing than other teams in the country. They're playing like the best team in the last few decades.
