The Ohio State football team is getting ready to welcome a visitor to campus. On Monday, the Buckeyes will have defensive end Beau Atkinson in for a visit. He is someone the Buckeyes would like to land from the transfer portal, which is something that they need.
Issues on the defensive line are what the Ohio State Buckeyes need to fix heading into the season. After replacing the entire starting defensive line from a year ago is proving to be more difficult than they thought. They don't have any proven guys who have been able to play snaps in big games.
Ohio State isn't the only school that Atkinson is considering transferring to. He made a visit to Georgia on Friday. Those are the final two schools that he is choosing from. Even though he still has a visit to make to Columbus, he has figured out when he will make his commitment decision.

Atkinson will make a choice on his new school this week after making the visit to Columbus. He will then decide between Ohio State and Georgia. Once that decision is made, the Ohio State football team can then decide who to move forward with in the transfer portal.
If the Buckeyes don't end up getting Atkinson, they will have to switch their game plan up. Ohio State still has to develop the guys that they currently have on the roster on the defensive line because they're not going to be able to get an entire new defensive line in the transfer portal.
Ohio State is just looking for a couple of guys whom they can plug in and use as starters. Eddrick Houston is the only guy they believe can be a solid starter for the next years. They have some work to do in Matt Patricia's first year.
