The Ohio State football team had to deal with some big missed calls during the 2024 season. They weren't the only team to deal with that, of course. There was a lof of bad officiating last college football season. There were games that were decided because of bad calls.

Thankfully, the Buckeyes didn't have any games during their national championship season that had that happen to them. Still, there were some bad calls that they were involved in. Some went against them while some went for them. They were able to rise above it all to win a national title.

ON3 put together a list of the ten worst missed calls during the season. All of the calls included on their list were egregious. Ohio State actually had two plays on this list. In fact, both of the plays happened in the same games, which shows how bad that officiating crew was.

The first call on the list is actually a play from the Ohio State/Nebraska game. In that game, the Buckeyes stopped Nebraska on a 3rd-and-1, even though they actually got it. The replay showed that they clearly made the line to gain. Instead, Nebraska had to call a timeout on their final drive of the first half.

The Big Ten came out and issued a statement declaring that it was the wrong call. Nebraska should have been awarded the first down. It wouldn't be the only statement that they would have to issue about this game, because another bad play from this game is next on their list.

Arvell Reese was ejected for targeting while Nebraska was trying to take the lead late in the fourth quarter. It was clearly the wrong call, and Ohio State was assessed a 15-yard penalty. They were assessed another 15-yard penalty after Ryan Day flipped out on the officials.

Once again, the Big Ten had to come out and state that it was the wrong call. The fact that officials from both the NCAA and Big Ten had to come out with two separate statements from this game shows that the officials on the field and in the replay booth shouldn't be working these games.

Luckily for the Buckeyes, neither of these bad calls cost the Buckeyes a game.
