The Ohio State football team continues with the philosophy of adding a quarterback in every recruiting class under Ryan Day. He wants to make sure that he doesn't have a gap in case there is an injury for some reason. It's a good policy to have for one of the best quarterback evaluators in the country.

It took the Buckeyes a while, but they have officially added their quarterback for the 2026 recruiting class. They were able to land a commitment from four-star quarterback Luke Fahey a few hours earlier than expected on Thursday afternoon. He becomes the 20th member of the 2026 recruiting class.

Fahey is someone that the Ohio State Buckeyes have been targeting for the last few months. They have been impressed with some of his camp performances and have been hoping to land a commitment from him. They were able to beat out Stanford and Indiana for his pledge.

While Fahey isn't the biggest quarterback in the class, he still throws a very tight ball. He's also very accurate and certainly doesn't have a weak arm. He's a solid addition to the roster and is good enough that he could start in three years if the Buckeyes needed him to.

Having Julian Sayin and Tavien St. Clair on the roster already gives them some leeway when it comes to adding quarterbacks to the roster. They don't necessarily need another five-star stud with this class. Brady Edmunds is also coming in next year's recruiting class, as well.

Fahey is a good quarterback with some really nice skills. Even if he ends up being a career backup at Ohio State, he's someone that Ryan Day would be able to trust putting into a game if he had to. This is a good recruiting win for the Buckeyes to start the month of July.

Ohio State will be hoping to add to the recruiting wins on Friday. They are hoping to get a pledge from Felix Ojo, as well as news that Jamir Perez will flip his commitment.
