The Ohio State football program is still trying to fill its 2026 recruiting class. They still have just 13 commitments in the class, but that doesn't mean they aren't expecting a full class. Despite that low number, they still have the third-best recruiting class in the country.

Despite that, they still feel that they can land quite a few highly-ranked recruits, including multiple five-star recruits. The Buckeyes are starting to get some positive momentum with one particular five-star recruit, and that is linebacker Xavier Griffin.

Griffin stands at 6'3 and 200 pounds. He is listed as the second-best linebacker in the country and just visited the Ohio State Buckeyes last weekend, which was the first in a long line of visits. He is still going to visit Alabama, Texas, and Florida State, too.

Ohio State has liked what they have seen from James Laurinaitis in the last couple of years with his recruiting. He has proven that he can land some top-level talent. He did that last year, and the Ohio State Buckeyes are confident that he can do that again by pulling Griffin.

Griffin had good things to say about Ohio State when he was done with his visit. He has them near the top of his list, even if he decided to visit them first. Even though Ohio State has to wait a while with these other visits to see if they ultimately are going to land him.

Ohio State needs to start landing some recruits this summer, but they have plenty of time to actually land some commitments. There will be some visits from recruits in games as well, so Buckeye fans shouldn't panic. In fact, they should be excited with what is about to come.
