The Ohio State football program continues to add recruits to official visits as camp season really starts to ramp up. Several recruits are about to have an official visit this weekend. Cincere Johnson actually just visited the Buckeyes last weekend ,and was very impressed.

Johnson is a four-star linebacker recruit out of Cleveland. He goes to Glenville High School, which has a rich history of talent playing for the Buckeyes. Johnson made his official commitment decision on Thursday afternoon. He was choosing between the Ohio State Buckeyes, Penn State, and Alabama.

Johnson decided to pick Ohio State, adding another linebacker recruit to the 2026 recruiting class. The Buckeyes have shown the ability to land some big-time linebacker recruits, with James Laurinaitis leading the way. Johnson is just another one that he has landed.

Four-star linebacker Cincere Johnson picks the Ohio State football program

Ohio State adds a player who can really help the defensive side of the ball. He stands at 6'3 and 240 pounds. He is very quick off the ball when it comes to rushing the passer, while also being good at covering in space. Johnson does a good job of blending both skills.

The Buckeyes are hoping that they can land some other linebacker recruits in the next couple of months as well. Johnson was one of their top priorities, so to have him as part of the class is great. He becomes the 16th member of the 2026 recruiting class.

Ohio State is trying to close the gap with USC so it can have the best recruiting class in the country. In order to catch them, they probably have to land a couple more five-star recruits in order to do that. Landing those recruits would give them a really good shot at doing that.

Johnson might not be the only recruit to commit to the Buckeyes today, either. Keep an eye out for some news later today.
