With spring ball right around the corner, the Ohio State football program has started to ramp up its recruiting efforts. They are starting to host recruits for visits, too. The Buckeyes are hoping to get an even better recruiting class than they were able to pull in for the 2026 class.

Right now, the Ohio State Buckeyes have the third-best recruiting class in the country for 2027. It is still incredibly early in the recruiting cycle, and they have just nine commitments for the class so far. Of course, nothing is done until they have signed with the school in December.

One of the recruits that Ohio State is trying to land is right in their own backyard. Tackle Davis Seaman goes to Bishop Watterson in Columbus, and is listed as the second-best tackle recruit according to Rivals. He is down to his final three schools, and Ohio State made the cut.

Seaman has narrowed his list of schools to just three. Of course, the Buckeyes are one of the schools he is still considering. He is also considering Auburn and Penn State as his other two schools. Seaman has already been on campus to visit Ohio State, but another visit is possible.

Tyler Bowen has done a very good job of adding depth to the offensive line with recruiting classes, but he hasn't landed a blue-chip recruit yet. That is still something that he is looking to get completed. Seaman is a four-star recruit, so he doesn't fit that bill.

Still, adding a quality offensive lineman from the city of Columbus should be something Ohio State would love. The Buckeyes should be considered the favorites to land Seaman at this point. They have the home-field advantage with him being in their backyard.
