The Ohio State football program has the top recruiting class in the country right now. They've been on top of the recruiting rankings for most of the year actually. They did a lot of strong work early in order to get some five-star talent into the program. In fact, no one has more five-star recruits than the Ohio State Buckeyes.

As time has gone on, there have been rumors of some recruits flipping to other schools. No player has been in more flipping rumors than five-star cornerback Na'eem Offord. He has stayed committed so far though. Unfortunately, it looks like the Buckeyes are going to lose someone else.

That player is linebacker Tarvos Alford. Alford is a four-star linebacker out of Vero Beach, Florida. He has been committed to the Ohio State football program since the end of March. Now, it looks like he's going to stay closer to home. The Buckeyes are probably going to lose him to Miami.

The Ohio State football program looks like they will lose a four-star linebacker recruit

According to ON3's Steve Wiltfong, Alford is now projected to flip his commitment to the Miami Hurricanes. Miami has increased their NIL offers to various recruits in recent weeks thanks to the success they've had on the field. That seems to be what Alford is considering.

If this does happen, it wouldn't be the worst thing for the Buckeyes. They already have a five-star linebacker in this 2025 class, so losing Alford wouldn't sting a lot. Also, Alford's ranking has slid ever since he committed to Ohio State back in March.

Of course, it's not ideal that the Buckeyes would lose a recruit at any point. Still, this is one spot where they can afford to lose someone at. Ohio State's linebacker room is surprisingly deep, especially since they only use two of them at a time.
