The Ohio State football team is hoping to capitalize on their momentum. They are still riding off the high of winning at Penn State. That win gave them the confidence they needed to shut down Purdue. It also couldn't have hurt their standing with some recruits out there.
Right now, the Ohio State Buckeyes have the second-best recruiting class in the country. For a lot of the year, the Buckeyes had the top spot. They have since been passed by Alabama. One player who has been rumored to flip for a while would only decrease Ohio State's standing if they ended up flipping.
That recruit is Na'eem Offord. Offord is the second-best cornerback in the country and is a five-star recruit. He has been committed to the Ohio State football program since February. Despite this, he continues to flirt with other schools and will be going on another official visit.
Ohio State football commit to take a visit to Florida
Offord has been linked to Auburn for quite a while. He apparently is also visiting Florida this weekend for their game against LSU. With early Signing Day happening next month, it appears multiple other schools are making a run at Offord. He has yet to slip his commitment though.
Offord's recruitment has been very strange. He has had multiple statements on social media indicating that he is locked in with the Buckeyes. Yet, his actions continue to tell a different story. I actually do think recruits should take as many official visits as they can. Why not keep racking up free merch at a place you may never travel to again?
Still, some of the things with Auburn are worrisome. Ohio State football fans shouldn't worry that much about this visit to Gainesville. They should be more worried about what Auburn is cooking up. They are the real threat to steal Offord from the Buckeyes at this point.
If Ohio State keeps winning games and keeps playing defense as well as they have in the last few games, they have a great shot to keep Offord. If they are able to keep him, the Buckeyes would have the top two corners in the country in this recruiting class.
