As of this writing, there's more than one year and three months until 2027 prospects can ink with the Ohio State football team during the Early Signing Period. This means guys like Brady Edmunds can still be contacted by other schools and potentially change their minds.

However, that's not going to happen with the 4-star signal-caller from Huntington Beach, Calif. In a recent interview with Rivals' Adam Gorney, the elite QB recruit revealed that he was continuing to hear from both Oregon and Penn State. The Big Ten powers were hoping to make something happen, but per Gorney, Edmunds told them thanks, but no thanks. Nope, he's locked in with the Buckeyes:

Ohio State commit Brady Edmunds told Penn State and Oregon he's not planning to flip

It's one thing when other schools work to steal one of your top commits for a class, but it's got to be a special feeling for Ryan Day when two conference rivals are politely told to take a hike. Edmunds has been an Ohio State verbal pledge since December and not once has he wavered in his decision.

According to the 247Sports composite, he's ranked a high four-star quarterback, the No. 8 QB in the country and No. 90 player nationally for the '27 class. He holds 24 offers to his name, picking Ohio State over Georgia, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Oregon, Penn State and many others.

He's not the only '27 recruit on board too, as 5-star wideout Jamier Brown has also committed to Ryan Day and his staff. With the Early Signing Period still so far away for Edmunds and Brown, there's indeed no question that plenty of programs are still going to go after them.

For Edmunds, it doesn't matter what else he hears from competing schools. He's fully set on playing for Ohio State and he can't wait to get to Columbus down the road. It looks like the Ohio State faithful have nothing to worry about in terms of him flipping.
