The Ohio State football program has continued to try to build its 2026 recruiting class. They currently have the third-best class in the country, despite having a relatively low number of commitments. They added another recruit into the mix on Sunday afternoon by landing an in-state product.

Four-star running back recruit Favour Akih has decided to choose the Ohio State Buckeyes to play for. Akih is from Delaware, Ohio, and plays at Hayes High School. He is the first running back in the class to commit to the Buckeyes this year, as Carlos Locklyn is now on the board.

Akih has long been considered a shoo-in to be with the Buckeyes. He is an in-state kid who grew up an Ohio State football fan, so he has long been seen as the next member of the Buckeyes' class. He might not be the only running back that the Buckeyes take in this class, either.

Akih stands at six feet tall and 190 pounds. He is someone who has a lot of speed and can run through some tackles as well. He's someone that Locklyn has been pursuing for quite a while. Akih now becomes the 14th member of the 2026 recruiting class.

Ohio State is still hoping that it can land the best running back in the 2026 class, Savion Hiter. He is deciding between the Buckeyes, Tennessee, and TTUN. It seems like Tennessee is the biggest threat to Ohio State in terms of landing his commitment.

Locklyn has proven to be a pretty solid recruiter since joining the staff last year during the Spring. He was able to coach both TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins to excellent seasons during Ohio State's run to the national championship. They are hopeful Akih can develop into a similar back.
