The Ohio State football program is trying to land some players from the transfer portal. So far, they haven't had anyone commit yet. The Buckeyes have a lot of feelers out, especially for some offensive linemen. They desperately need some linemen on both sides of the ball.

One other position that the Ohio State Buckeyes need help in is the running back spot. TreVeyon Henderson leaves after this season. Quinshon Judkins might too. If they both leave, the Buckeyes are extremely thin at that spot. They were pretty thin all of this year too.

That's why the Buckeyes are pursuing Justice Haynes, a running back who is in the transfer portal from Alabama. Haynes is listed as the top running back in the portal by 247Sports. If the Buckeyes want to get him though, they will have to battle their rival for him.

The Ohio State football team is battling Michigan for Justice Haynes

Haynes' transfer portal recruitment is coming down to Ohio State and Michigan. It sounds like Haynes likes what Ohio State's roster looks like a little more, but TTUN might overpay him to come. It's neck-and-neck at the moment. It's a recruiting battle the Buckeyes need to win.

If Ohio State is able to land Haynes, that would be a huge boost for them. He would backup Judkins if he ends up staying. If Judkins leaves for the NFL, he would battle James Peoples for the starting job. Either way, he's going to see a lot of snaps if he comes to Columbus.

Haynes had 79 carries for 448 yards and seven touchdowns this season for the Crimson Tide. That's certainly more than anyone behind Judkins has. Getting Haynes also has an additional benefit other than just helping Ohio State. They would also be keeping him away from TTUN.

I'm sure we'll learn soon what Haynes' decision is. Hopefully, he makes the right choice and chooses Ohio State.
