This Ohio State football season started with a lot of guys returning for their senior season. Guys like Emeka Egbuka, J.T. Tuimoloau, Denzel Burke, and TreVeyon Henderson all decided to come back for one last run at it. The Buckeyes knew that this season was going to be an all-in kind of year.
Defensive end Jack Sawyer started it all. He was one of the first players to decide to return for his senior season. His first three years hadn't been what was expected of him. He wanted to come back to try to achieve all of the goals that the 2021 recruiting class set out for themselves.
While they didn't win the Big Ten or beat TTUN this year, they have an opportunity to achieve their ultimate goal. They have a chance to win a national championship if they can beat Notre Dame. Sawyer chronicled his decision to come back for this season and why he decided to do so.
Ohio State football player Jack Sawyer chronicles why he came back for his senior season
In a piece written in The Players' Tribune, Sawyer chronicled why he decided to come back to the Ohio State Buckeyes for one final run at things. It gave fans an insight as to why he wanted to come back and why these players have played so hard for Ryan Day.
Sawyer mentioned how Day always deflects the criticism onto him instead of the players. He wants to take all of the pressure on himself instead of letting the players deal with that. Sawyer also mentions that Day gets too much criticism going his way.
There is just one game left in Sawyers's Ohio State football career. The Buckeyes will take on the Fighting Irish on Monday for a chance to lift that golden trophy. Sawyer is going to do everything in his power to make sure it's the Buckeyes.
