The Ohio State football team had to face the toughest route possible to make the National Championship Game. They had to beat Tennessee, Oregon, and Texas in order to get there. They beat every single one of those teams by at least double-digits.
Notre Dame had a much easier path. They had to beat Indiana, Georgia, and Penn State. The Buckeyes beat two of those teams in the regular season. After they beat Penn State, one Notre Dame player said he wanted the Buckeyes in the National Championship Game.
Running back Jeremiyah Love said he wanted to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in that final game. He got his wish, and things did not go well for him. The Buckeyes won the game 34-23. Meanwhile, Love had a bad game personally. One Buckeye didn't let him forget it.
Ohio State football Tyleik Williams destroys Jeremiyah Love on social media
Following the victory, defensive tackle Tyleik Williams took to social media to let Love know that Ohio State had heard what he said.
Love had just three yards on four carries in the final game. Williams made sure that he knew how poorly he played after he said he wanted to face the Buckeyes. It's clear that Ohio State and the defensive line as a whole took that as a personal challenge.
Williams played really well this season and made himself some money. There's a chance that he's a late first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He certainly made a good impression in his final collegiate game, shutting down Notre Dame's offense when it mattered the most.
Perhaps Love will think twice before deciding to open his mouth up like that again. This can be a learning moment for him. The Buckeyes made sure that he learned that lesson in a painful way.
