What a week it has been for Ohio State football out on the recruiting trail. On Sunday, 4-star wideout Kayden Dixon-Wyatt committed to Ryan Day. Since then, 5-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson said the Buckeyes are his No. 1 school and even more good news has come in from Cincere Johnson.
Earlier this week, the 4-star linebacker out of Glenville High in Cleveland revealed that he's now down to only three schools. Keep in mind that Johnson has picked up 33 offers throughout his recruitment, but Ohio State, Alabama and Penn State remain in the hunt. Will the Buckeyes keep him home once decision day gets here?
Blessed to be in this position! Thanks to my lord and savior! What We Thinking 🤔 https://t.co/UGcZOrGpSo

4-star LB Cincere Johnson has Ohio State among his three finalists
Several experts have predicted the Buckeyes to end up landing the commitment from Johnson, but the Crimson Tide and Nittany Lions aren't going to go down without a fight. With Johnson being a Cleveland product, the hope is that Day will be able to keep him from leaving to go play elsewhere.
Could you imagine a scenario where both Johnson AND Atkinson commit to the Buckeyes. While it's unknown currently if that's going to happen or not, the Buckeyes are in great spots with the highly-touted linebackers. This is a testament to the incredible work the Ohio State coaches do with recruiting.
As things stand, the Buckeyes hold the No. 3 recruiting class in the country per 247Sports, which ranks Johnson as a 4-star playmaker, the No. 6 LB in the country and the No. 136 prospect nationally for his class.
Johnson has taken several trips to Columbus and he's scheduled to take an official visit to Ohio State next month on June 13. Could a decision be coming before that OV takes place? You never know what might happen, but it's clear that the Buckeyes and Day are giving the 'backer a lot to think about with a decision potentially not being too far off.
