On Sunday night, the Ohio State football team teased a uniform change on social media. They showed that they were going to release something new on Monday. It was something that fans of the Buckeyes were excited about. I speculated that it could have been them bringing back the gray sleeves.
Bringing back the gray sleeves is something that fans have been clamoring for for years. Yet, the Ohio State Buckeyes haven't brought them back. Fans were expecting that was what the big announcement was going to be, but Ohio State faked everyone out.
Gray sleeves are not back. In fact, the Buckeyes introduced an entirely new uniform. Ohio State has had multiple throwback uniforms that they have worn in the past. Ohio State has brought back the black uniforms, but with a little bit of a twist thrown in.
Ohio State football introduces black uniforms
Ohio State has worn black uniforms as a throwback in the past, but these ones do have some gray in the sleeves. The Buckeyes revealed the uniforms proudly on social media,

Ohio State is calling these uniforms their "Tunnel Vision" uniforms. It's unclear when the Buckeyes will break out these uniforms. They are alternate, so they are not replacing either current uniform. Certainly, these jerseys will be available for Buckeye fans to buy, though.
That is likely the entire reason for unveiling these. They just want to sell more merchandise and get more revenue. Instead of investing the time and the money into changing the current uniforms to include the gray sleeves, they decided to just create new alternate uniforms.
As an Ohio State fan, I would have preferred to see them do something with the current uniforms and do something that Buckeye fans have been begging for. Instead, this uniform is nice for recruiting and for jersey sales, but it's still not something anyone asked for.
