Heading into next season, the Ohio State football team has just three scholarship quarterbacks. Julian Sayin, Lincoln Kienholz, and incoming freshman Tavien St. Clair are the only quarterbacks left. Air Noland and Devin Brown entered the transfer portal, and Will Howard is headed to the NFL.

The Ohio State Buckeyes were able to get Sayin and Howard from the transfer portal a year ago. Howard obviously has been great and might lead the Buckeyes to a national championship. They now have the chance to grab another quarterback from the portal if they want.

Carson Beck has decided to enter the transfer portal after initially deciding to declare for the NFL Draft. He has a torn UCL that he is rehabbing, so he won't be able to throw until March. He's leaving Georgia, and Ohio State has been tabbed as one of the favorites to get him.

According to Pete Nakos of ON3, the Buckeyes, along with Miami and Texas Tech, are one of the favorites to land him in the portal.

Even though Nakos says Ohio State is one of the favorites to land Beck, it wouldn't make a lot of sense for them to pursue him. Beck was not very good this year for the Bulldogs, throwing for 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns and a whopping 12 interceptions.

Beck would give the Buckeyes some experience at the quarterback position, which is something they don't have. Still, they have two five-star quarterbacks on their roster who need to play at some point. Sayin and St. Clair are both supremely talented players.

Miami is the favorite over both the Buckeyes and the Red Raiders to win Beck's services. It would be shocking if the Buckeyes pursued and landed Beck from the portal.
