Early Signing Day had a lot of fireworks to it. Luckily for the Ohio State football program, most of their commits decided to sign with the Buckeyes on Wednesday. There was a little bit of drama, but most of the events that unfolded were expected for Ohio State.

The Ohio State Buckeyes signed 24 recruits on Wednesday. Most of those guys have been committed for quite a while. They did have a five-star cornerback flip his recruitment, but that was the only bad news on the day for Ohio State. They closed the class fairly well.

Grading the Ohio State football team's recruiting class on Early Signing Day

Tavien St. Clair headlines the class. The Bellefontaine native has been the crowned jewel of this class for months. The quarterback is the second overall recruit in the country. He is someone the Buckeyes are very excited to have and is one of two five-star recruits in this class.

Devin Sanchez is the other five-star recruit. He is the number-one cornerback in the country. Adding him to the roster makes the loss of Na'eem Offord sting a bit less. Sanchez is someone who is good enough to play day one for the Buckeyes. He might be my favorite player from this class.

2025 recruiting class grade through Early Signing Day: B+

This isn't the same class that it was shaping up to be a few months ago. At that time, the Buckeyes had the top recruiting class in the country. Now, it's ranked fifth. It has lost a little bit of shine. Still, it's a really solid class that helped rebuild depth along the defensive line and has some impact players in it.

There's still a chance that the class will get better, too. David Sanders Jr. decided not to sign on Wednesday as he was expected to do. The current Tennessee commit is being heavily pursued by the Buckeyes. He is a five-star tackle and the number-one tackle in the country.

Landing Sanders Jr. would be a coup for the Buckeyes. Hopefully, Ohio State is able to close the deal on him.
