Ohio State football has all but locked up elite wide receiver recruit

The Ohio State football program already has a five-star receiver recruit in the 2027 class. Jamier Brown has been committed to the Buckeyes since last November and seems locked in. That hasn't stopped Brian Hartline from trying to get more high-level pass-catchers.

Monshun Sales is another recruit that the Buckeyes have their eyes on. Sales is rated as a five-star receiver and the third-best receiver in the country. He's also listed as the best recruit in the state of Indiana, similar to Mylan Graham's profile when he was coming out of high school.

Sales has been someone that the Ohio State Buckeyes have had on their radar for a while. The Lawrence North Product has offers from all of the big boys, including Auburn, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame, just to name a few. Yet, two schools stand alone for him.

Monshun Sales has the Ohio State football team as one of his two frontrunners

According to Steve Wiltfong of Rivals, Sales now has Ohio State and Alabama as the two frontrunners in his recruitment. That should excite the Buckeyes because they have a much better history of developing wide receivers than Alabama does. Only LSU comes close to rivaling them.

The only thing that Ohio State has to worry about is the NIL aspect. Ohio State has been a bit stingy when it comes to offering five-star recruits NIL money. That has kept them from getting several 2026 recruits, although they have started to open up the checkbook later in the cycle.

If Sales does join the Buckeyes, their receiver room will be borderline unstoppable. In 2027, they'll have Sales, Brown, Graham, and Chris Henry Jr., all of whom were or currently are five-star recruits. Good luck to any defense trying to stop that group of receivers.

At this point, there is no word on when Sales will make his commitment decision. He was on campus for Ohio State's victory over Texas to start the year, so he knows what campus looks like for a big game.
