It's getting tough to keep track of all the talent that will be making its way to watch Ohio State football take on Texas later this month. In easily the best game of opening weekend, the top two teams are ready to dance and plenty of big-name recruits will be at The Shoe to watch the action.
Ryan Day and his coaching staff may be focused on the 2026 class, but that doesn't mean they've forgotten about 2027. Come Aug. 30, Chad Simmons is reporting that 5-star running back David Gabriel Georges will be in Columbus to watch Ohio State put in work to take down Arch Manning and the Longhorns:

5-star RB David Gabriel Georges will visit Ohio State for the Texas game
The 6-0, 205-pounder is getting ready for his junior campaign at the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn. Gabriel Georges is widely considered one of the top prospects for the '27 class and several schools are huge fans of his game.
Throughout his recruitment, the big-bodied back has picked up 33 total offers, which is pretty eye-opening seeing as there's still a ton of time until he can sign with a team in December 2026. His list includes Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida State, Colorado and many others.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Gabriel Georges is ranked five stars, the No. 3 running back in the country, No. 1 player out of Tennessee and No. 34 prospect overall in the nation. This won't be the first visit to the Ohio State campus for him either.
Back in the spring, Gabriel Georges made his way to Columbus to watch a practice in April. Tennessee is of course considered a strong player in his commitment with the Vols being the in-state SEC powerhouse.
With the atmosphere for the Texas game expected to be out of this world, it seems like it will be easy for the Buckeyes to turn his head for his return trip to town. There's still a long way to go before Gabriel Georges shuts things down, but this Week 1 visit could prove to be a massive one for him.
