As the Ohio State football team enters the middle of the season, they have been trying to improve their 2026 recruiting class. Right now, it's rated as the worst class Ryan Day would have as the head coach for the Buckeyes. They are trying to flip some recruits to change that.
Still being undefeated and ranked as the top team in the country has helped their odds of actually getting some recruits to change their minds. That happened on Monday, when the Ohio State Buckeyes were able to flip Landry Brede from NC State.
On Tuesday, the Buckeyes were able to get some more good news on the recruiting front. While adding Brede was nice for the offense, they were able to fortify the defense by adding a safety who was previously committed to a rival Big Ten school.
The Ohio State football team flips Khmari Bing from Maryland
Three-star safety Khmari Bing has flipped his commitment from the Terrapins to the Buckeyes. Bing de-committed from Maryland just a week ago. He did so just a couple of days after visiting Columbus for the Minnesota game. He also set up a visit for Alabama in November.
It's unclear if that visit will still happen now that Bing has committed to Matt Guerrieri and Ohio State. He becomes their 22nd recruit in the 2026 recruiting class, as well as the third safety. It's likely that Simeon Caldwell moves to linebacker when he gets on campus, though.
Bing is six-feet tall and 190 pounds. While he plays corner now in high school, he is seen as a safety iat the next level. Ohio State will move him there as well. The Buckeyes are happy to add another member to their recruiting class, and Bing is not the last flipping target they have, either.
Expect Ohio State to add more members to the 2026 class in the next few weeks. The flipping has only just begun for them.
