Despite the fact that the Ohio State football team has the weakest recruiting class in the Ryan Day era, it still has a couple of blue-chip recruits. The Buckeyes are hoping to add a few more of those recruits before Signing Day happens in a few months. Still, Chris Henry Jr. is in the class.
The five-star receiver has been committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes since 2023 and has rebuffed multiple attempts from other schools to flip him. He's locked in with the Buckeyes because he wants to play for both Ryan Day and Brian Hartline, and man, are the Buckeyes glad to have him.
Henry Jr. is one of the best recruits in the country and is listed as the second-best recruit in the 2026 recruiting class. Standing at 6'5 and 225 pounds, he's able to go up and get the ball from defenders. That's exactly what he did on Friday night, providing yet another highlight-reel catch.
Ohio State football commit Chris Henry Jr. makes another incredible catch in a season full of them
On Friday night, Henry Jr. made another absurd catch, bringing in a long touchdown between two defenders in a stunning highlight play.

The Buckeyes can't wait to get him on campus. Having him team up with Jeremiah Smith is going to leave defenses helpless to stop the passing game. He's already showing signs that he'll be good enough to see the field as a true freshman, something that very few receivers do at Ohio State.
With Carnell Tate looking like a first-round pick, someone needs to step into that second receiver role next season. It could be former five-star recruits Mylan Graham or Quincy Porter, or it could be Henry Jr. Brandon Inniss will have an opportunity to do that as well.
Regardless of what role Henry Jr. plays as a freshman, he's going to be a really good football player for the Buckeyes. Fans should be excited to have him on the roster for the next three years. If he's as good as he looks in high school, he will likely leave early for the draft in 2029.
There's a good chance that when the final recruiting rankings come out, Henry Jr. ends up being the number-one receiver in the country for the 2026 class. He makes plays like this almost every single week for Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California.
