The Ohio State Buckeyes suffered their second loss of the season on Saturday night. It was a disappointing result for the second-ranked Buckeyes. Even though they had a backup quarterback starting in the game, the thought was that their talent was going to win the day.
Instead, Ohio State lost 30-18. It was a disappointing result, and now they have fallen to 11th in the polls. After the game, Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork had a very public incident with Lincoln Riley that was caught on video. While the details are still fuzzy, fans don't like the optics.
Ohio State fans want to see action taken against Ross Bjork
Fans took to social media to ask for some sort of action to be taken against Bjork, as the incident didn't look good. In their eyes, Bjork clearly did something inappropriate to set Riley off so much. He cursed at Bjork on his way off the field.
Ross Bjork made Ohio State looks like sore losers... and disrespectful punks.

Looked like @OSU_AD Ross Bjork was the instigator… pic.twitter.com/maI2faqj7z

This angle alone shows Bjork should be suspended indefinitely https://t.co/6C1eCnR0sQ

It is still unclear what exactly happened during this interaction. Whatever it was, Maurice Clarett had to play peacemaker. As the athletic director of the university, Bjork shouldn't have put himself in this situation. He should be putting himself up to the highest standard of conduct.
What Riley did was wrong, too. He clearly cursed at Bjork, which is not a good look. However, there are still no details as to what actually transpired, so it's important that people don't rush to judgment. Bjork will certainly be asked about it at some point, but he isn't under any obligation to talk to the media.
Ohio State should have been able to win that game against USC. Had Ryan Day's team been able to win this game, this incident never would have happened. Instead, they played by far the worst game of the year. The defense and the special teams were a disaster.
Ross Bjork has had mixed results as Ohio State's athletic director
When Bjork was hired, he was supposed to help transition Ohio State into a golden age of NIL. He has helped the football program get some more money to spend on the roster, but only in the last year. Before that, he refused to help Day spend more money on recruits.
Bjork also decided to transform Ohio Stadium and end a beloved gameday tradition. He also decided to move the band to the North section of the stadium in order to build luxury boxes in the South stands. Fans are also unsure about his decision to hire Jake Diebler, especially when the basketball Buckeyes could have had Dusty May instead.
This incident will not help his standing with the fans who want him gone. It will also only hurt his standing with the fans who are okay with what he's accomplished in Columbus. He was run out of both Ole Miss and Texas A&M, so he's made some big mistakes.
This is a mistake that might fully turn the tide on him, especially if more details emerge. Perhaps Riley will have more to say about this at some point this week. It's a bad look for Bjork on a night that Ohio State fans want to forget.
