The Ohio State Buckeyes picked up their second loss of the season after an embarrassing effort against USC. Despite having two weeks to prepare for the Trojans, the Buckeyes weren't able to get a win. It was also Luke Fahey's first start at the quarterback position.

Defense was the main reason why Ohio State lost this game. They allowed USC to score 30 points in the rain. Afterwards, Lincoln Riley had a heated moment on the field with what appeared to be Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork. In fact, it looked like Riley cursed at him.

In a video that was widely circulated on social media, taken by sports reporter Nicole Shearin, Riley appears to yell "F--- you, p----" as he is passing by Bjork. It's unclear why Riley was so heated, and he was not asked about it after the game. While he should have been happy, he was angry instead.

Bjork did not seem to react in the video. He kept walking right by Riley. Ohio State was a big loser in this game, and perhaps Bjork said something to Riley. There is speculation on social media that Bjork said something to Riley's wife, and that's why Riley responded to him.

Of course, those claims have not been verified. It's tough to discern exactly what happened in the video, and the Buckeyes have not offered any clarity at this point. It's unlikely that Ohio State or Riley will offer any explanation until later this week.

This could not have been a bigger loss for Ohio State. Not only did they get crushed on the field, but now the athletic director is the main character in an incident directly after the game. The Buckeyes now have no margin for error the rest of the season in order to make the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State's season is dangerously close to going off the rails

This is a loss that the Buckeyes were not necessarily counting on after having two weeks to prepare for. Not just that, but USC scored just seven points against Wisconsin last week. Riley was getting calls from his own fanbase to be fired. Now, Day is the one under fire.

The game plan could not have been worse for this game. It looked like Day did not trust Fahey to do much through the air. Penalties were another big story in this game, as the Buckeyes committed 11 of them. Poor defense and special teams all contributed to giving Fahey no help.

This loss was not Fahey's fault. That lies at the feet of the coaching staff. Now, Bjork will have to answer questions about this incident. Quite frankly, Ohio State's trip to Los Angeles could not have ended any worse. It was much worse than their last trip, which saw them beat Oregon in the Rose Bowl.

Now, the entire coaching staff has a lot of questions to answer. Ohio State has to figure out a way to negate the penalties and play better defense. Otherwise, this team has no chance.
