In the history of the College Football Playoff, the Ohio State Buckeyes have had a lot of success. In both the four-team era and the 12-team era, the Buckeyes have made the Playoff a lot. They also have won the national championship in both formats.

The Ohio State football team was the first national champion of the CFP era, beating Oregon in 2014 in the first four-team Playoff. After that, they became the first team to win the 12-team Playoff, beating Notre Dame last season for that championship.

Every time the format changes to crown a national champion, the Buckeyes seem to win the title. Ohio State football fans love it when the format changes for that reason. That's why fans are so excited about the latest format change within the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State football fans sense another national championship after another format change

With the announcement that the CFP format will change its seeding, Buckeye fans are excited. Another format change should mean another national championship for them, if history holds. The new rules should help the Buckeyes as well because they should give them a higher seeding.

Ohio State is hoping to be the top overall seed in the Playoff. That would mean that they have won the Big Ten and likely gone undefeated, which is always the goal for the Buckeyes. They have a lot of returning talent for this season. Winning all of their games is what they strive for.

The Buckeyes have already proven that they can win the national championship even if they lose a couple of games. They did that last year, proving that they are still one of the best teams in the country with everything on the line. The Buckeyes should still have a real shot to win it all in 2025.
