The Ohio State football program was said to have multiple recruits pledging to the Buckeyes in the coming days. Fans were on high alert after both the Ohio State Buckeyes tweeted it from their own account and Hayes Fawcett from ON 3 tweeted from his account.

They did land a commitment from 2028 running back Elijah Newman-Hall, but that was it. Based on Ohio State's social media activity, fans were expecting at least one more recruit to commit. Yet, that hasn't happened. Why is that? Why have they only landed one of those recruits so far?

Usually, the social media posts are pretty reliable. The Ohio State Buckeyes are usually adding a prospect whenever they tweet the Buckeye emoji. They actually tweeted three of them, which led some to believe that they were about to land a trio of recruits.

Ohio State football fans remain confused about recruiting activity

Take a look at what the Buckeyes posted on their social media account just a few days ago.

Usually, this means they would get three recruits to commit. Instead, it was just Newman-Hall. He's a very good player and is still very young, but Ohio State fans were expecting more based on multiple social media posts from different accounts. That is why fans are confused.

There could still be some commitments here in the next couple of days that clear up some confusion. There are quite a few really good players that the Buckeyes are hoping to get for the 2026 recruiting class. That is partially why fans are frustrated. They want to know if one of those recruits will be a Buckeye.

Ryan Day and his coaching staff will keep hitting the trail and hope that they can land as many good players as possible. They still have plenty of time to land some recruits before Signing Day in December and February.
