Ever since Brian Hartline took over as the wide receivers coach for the Ohio State football team, the Buckeyes have been able to land almost every receiver they have wanted. He has proven to be the best recruiter in the country and the best wide receivers coach, as well.
Thanks to his development, the Ohio State Buckeyes have been able to have four straight first-round picks at the wide receiver position. He is hoping to continue that next year, as well. Some of the best recruits in the 2026 recruiting class are wide receivers.
One of those receiver recruits is Brock Boyd out of Southlake, Texas. Boyd has been having himself a heck of a senior season. He is starting to look like one of the most underrated recruits in the country. This past week, he set an incredible record for his high school.
Ohio State football recruit Brock Boyd becomes the all-time receiving leader for his high school
On Friday, Boyd became the all-time leading receiver in Southlake Carroll High School history. He passed a 20-year-old record that was held by McKay Jacobson. He now has 3,034 receiving yards in his career, which is pretty impressive considering the level of football he plays in Texas.
Boyd might only be a three-star recruit, but he's someone that the Buckeyes are excited about because of his ability to possess the ball. He can make big plays right now in high school, but he projects as more of a slot/possession receiver at the next level.
This is a career mark that Boyd should be proud of. It's a product of the amount of work he has put in over the course of his four-year career in high school. He has his work cut out for him if he is going to see the field in what is a very crowded Ohio State receiver room, though.
Congratulations to Boyd!
