The Legend of Legend Bey's recruitment is quickly becoming the stuff of legend. The four-star recruit from Forney, Texas has been back and forth on his commitment from both Ohio State and Tennessee. His recruiting timeline is all over the place, with him committing to Tennessee back in very late June after taking two official visits, only to briefly de-commit and flip over to Ohio State for about a month.
Bey allegedly flipped back to Tennessee on National Signing Day on Dec. 3 by signing his national letter of intent. However, there is reason to believe that his NLI was forged by someone close to him. It could be his mother, it could be his brother, who knows? The point is his signature may not have been his own. Either way, we are a long way from seeing him show up on Knoxville campus come January.
To add more fuel to the fire, Bey was apparently spotted wearing Ohio State gear during a workout.

Bey, a four-star ATH from Forney, Texas, signed with the Vols on National Signing Day, but tweeted a day after that it was not his decision in a now deleted tweet.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Bey is the No. 24 player from Texas, the No. 9 athlete in his class, and the No. 175 overall player in the 2026 recruiting cycle. He is listed as a quarterback on his 247Sports recruiting page, but he only measures 5-foot-10.5 and weighs just 175 pounds. Either he needs to do some growing, or potentially change positions. That is what he might have to do now...
If Ohio State is able to get Bey to officially flip back to them from Tennessee, it will be a great week!
Legend Bey spotted wearing Ohio State gear during a local workout
This appears to be something... At this stage of the game, a former high school football star who has supposedly put pen to paper to sign his national letter of intent should only be wearing gear for a team he either played for, or is about to play for. Bey should only be wearing clothes from his high school team or the one he is committed to. Right now, that would be Tennessee, but that may change.
Yes, a shirt is a shirt, and clothes are clothes. That being said, could you imagine walking around on campus during the first day of fall semester wearing a shirt supporting another team's athletic program, let alone a rival? Ohio State and Tennessee are not rivals, but they are battling for Bey's four-star commitment. Clearly, his heart says to go to Ohio State, but his family is wanting Tennessee.
In the end, it is disgusting to have parents and loved ones get in the way of a college student's dream. If money were no object, which would not be the case for anyone on an athletic scholarship, a player should be able to go to any school that gives them an offer. Besides, Bey is going to be playing his college football out-of-state. It if was between Tennessee and a Texas school, that is another animal.
For now, let's keep close tabs on this to see where Bey ends up enrolling for spring classes shortly.
