The Ohio State football program is still trying to build up its 2027 recruiting class. They have plenty of time to make sure they finish with an elite class. Right now, the class is not overly impressive in terms of the recruiting rankings. They sit with just the tenth-best recruiting class in the country.

Of course, this summer is really when recruiting starts to heat up. Recruits start to head to camps, and that is when teams start to get commitments. Five-star wide receiver recruit Jamier Brown has been committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes since November of 2024.

Brown committed to Brian Hartline when he was still with the Buckeyes. Other programs have used that to try to sway Brown out of his commitment. Instead, he has reaffirmed his commitment to Ohio State. He has recently decided to shut down his recruitment.

While speaking at an Under Armour camp in Columbus, Brown made it clear that he is locked in with the Buckeyes. When asked if he was planning on taking any other visits, Brown said no.

"I think the time is just too close to be playing around. I know where I want to go, and that's Ohio State. So, I don't really see a point in going anywhere else, honestly."

Brown will be taking an official visit to Ohio State at the end of the month. That is the only visit he wants to take, so that is what he will be doing. It's good that the Buckeyes have locked him down, though. He has a chance to be an elite receiver at the collegiate level.

Ohio State can focus its efforts on other top-rated recruits as the summer rolls on. Brown is locked in, and he's not going anywhere. Now, they can try to add more recruits on the defensive side of the ball, which is where they need the most work in this class.
