With the biggest game of the college football season coming in just four days, you'd think that everyone would be able to relax before Ohio State football and Texas go to battle. Instead, YouTube and FOX have other ideas and people are rightfully furious about it.
In an unfortunate twist, it looks like the two outlets are having issues meeting in the middle for a new contract and things need to get finalized by Wednesday. If that doesn't happen, then Buckeyes fans who are relying on their YouTube TV subscriptions to watch the massive Week 1 clash with Arch Manning and Steve Sarkisian may be out of luck. You've got to be kidding.
YouTube TV confirms it is in “active negotiations” with Fox for a new contract.

If companies can’t reach agreement by Wednesday, Saturday’s Texas-Ohio State matchup may be unavailable on YouTube TV.
If no agreement long term, YouTube will give fans a $10 credit. https://t.co/YVdaItXGqn
The YouTube and FOX negotiations are a major pain for Ohio State football fans
As you can see from the post above, the two sides indeed are in negotiations, but YouTube TV is hoping for a 'fair deal' from FOX before the two sides move forward. Should that happen, is there going to be a price increase for everyone moving forward?
The fact that this is happening so close to kickoff is enraging. Remember the good old days when all you needed was basic cable to watch Ohio State each weekend? You didn't have to worry about being signed up for what feels like 50 different streaming services.
We can only hope FOX and YouTube TV get this figured out and fast, as the last thing people want is to have to scramble on Saturday to find a way to not miss a second of Big Noon Kickoff. This is a game the Buckeyes are going to want to make a statement in too.
Julian Sayin is all set to make his first start for head man Ryan Day and people can't wait to see what the former 5-star prospect is able to get done. Jeremiah Smith and Caleb Downs are going to have plenty of eyes on them too both inside of The Shoe and around the world. Soon enough we'll find out what happens with FOX and YouTube TV, but again, if they prevent Ohio State fans from watching this titanic clash this weekend, then they better expect a lot of angry customers.
