Ohio State football fans love anything bad that happens to Michigan. Beating TTUN to the point that they had to fire Sherrone Moore after his scandal. Had TTUN been able to beat the Buckeyes last season, there's a good chance Moore would have kept his job.
Yet, Michigan fans still keep talking. They think that Kyle Whittingham is going to have them right back in contention for a title, even though Bryce Underwood has looked bad so far. ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum took a blowtorch to the ego of every Michigan fan.
Paul Finebaum torches TTUN in scathing interview
While speaking with Brooks Austin on The Film Guy, Finebaum made it very clear how he feels about TTUN fans trying to claim relevancy in today's college football landscape.
“Michigan fans, they’re not worth the time. They think college football revolves around them, and they’ve won, I think, two-and-a-half national championships in 70 years, and they cheated to get the last one.”
That's a very strong statement on what he believes the state of Michigan football is at this stage. Fans of the Buckeyes couldn't agree more. Had the Connor Stalions scandal not happened, it's very likely TTUN would still be chasing their first national championship since 1997, and they shared that one.
Meanwhile, the Ohio State Buckeyes won their national championship in 2024 without any sort of controversy. They simply went on one of the greatest four-game runs in the history of college football. However, TTUN still thinks they own the Big Ten for some reason.
Indiana is the defending Big Ten and national champs. If anything, they are the kings of the conference right now. TTUN will swiftly find out how bad a team they are once they take on Oklahoma for the second straight season. That game will likely see them lose at home.
Ohio State has a shot to crush TTUN into oblivion for good
Another blowout victory for the Buckeyes in the final game of the regular season could crush TTUN for good. With a new AD on the way and a program hiding the depths of its misdeeds, winning in football is the only thing they have. That's especially true now that Dusty May is gone.
Ohio State is one of the favorites to win the national championship, so beating TTUN at home in the final game of the year is not a stretch at all. In fact, they should be favored to win that game by double digits. It would really be a good chance to put TTUN in the dirt for a while.
Of course, the rivalry is a rivalry for a reason. TTUN has three upset victories over the Buckeyes in the last four years. Two of those were probably aided by the cheating scandal, but Ohio State still knows it can happen. They won't overlook anything that the Wolverines can do.
Finebaum feels about TTUN exactly the same way that every Buckeye fan does. It's time the rest of the nation sees them and their fans for exactly what they are.
