Ohio State has been a program known for bringing in the top wide receovers int he country from high school, and the Buckeyes knew that was what they were getting from recruit Chris Henry Jr. The North Carolina native did scare the Buckeyes briefly when he did not sign when the Early Signing Period opened after the news of Brian Hartline leaving for USF.
Henry took a few days to think over his commitment, but ultimately still ended up back with Ohio State and signed shortly after. When Henry signed, he was a top 5 recruit according to Rivals rankings; however, things seem to have changed, and it won't make Buckeyes fans happy.
In Rivals' latest Class of 2026 recruit rankings, Henry is now ranked as the No. 31 player in the class, and luckily still retains his five-star status.

Chris Henry Jr.'s snub in the Rivals' rankings will not go unnoticed
There is going to be a lot of confusion as to why Henry dropped so much in basically a little over a month since signing with Ohio State. Henry was once the top-ranked wide receiver in the class by Rivals, and now he is just barely a five-star recruit. Five stars are only for the top 32 recruits in a class, and Henry is just making the cut at No. 31.
Granted, if there is anything that was learned this college football season with the Indiana Hoosiers, sometimes high school ratings don't matter, but for Henry, who was such a win for the Buckeyes over other schools like Oregon and USC, this just feels like a slap in the face.
If anything, Henry can use this as a chip on his shoulder going into this next season with the Buckeyes. He can show Rivals that he is the best player in the 2026 recruiting class, and their ranking of him was completely wrong.
