Every year, FOX takes the most Ohio State football games that they can get. They know that fans all across the country want to watch the Buckeyes, either to watch them win or lose. Either way, there are a lot of eyeballs on the team every single week. However, the fans are never thought of.
FOX gobbles up all of the premier matchups, leaving no room for fans to enjoy a home night game. Most years, the Buckeyes get at least one home night game. That won't be the case this year after the announcement that Northwestern will not be a night game, as was long-rumored.
Ohio State vs. Northwestern is revealed to be a noon kickoff
It has been announced that the game in two weeks will be a noon kickoff game on FOX. It will be yet another Big Noon Kickoff, which will mean Ohio State fans won't get to witness a home night game this year. That means that fans will not get to experience the best possible environment this season.
With this no longer being a home night game, it's unclear when the Buckeyes will actually wear their brand-new black uniforms. Ohio State had three new uniforms for this season, and they have only worn one of them so far. They still haven't worn their all-new scarlet uniforms.
It's a shame that the fans who show up to the Shoe every single weekend won't get a chance to show the opponents the best possible environment. Season ticket prices go up every year, and yet TV networks continue to screw the fans. Ross Bjork seems content to let this happen, too.
Bjork has had a rough few days, and this should only add to it. Fans should not be pleased with the fact that Bjork won't stick up for them. If they have to watch a backup quarterback for the rest of the year, why can't they at least get a home night game? Ohio State even deleted their social media post announcing the game because they know how much fans hate it.
Ohio State's season rests on a razor's edge
After last weekend's disappointment in Los Angeles, the Buckeyes' season is now hanging by a thread. Another loss would take them out of the College Football Playoff discussion. It would be Ryan Day's biggest failure to this point as a head coach.
Life without Julian Sayin did not look good. Ohio State managed to score just one touchdown against a bad Trojan defense. Even worse, the defense looked horrendous. Matt Patricia looked completely lost with what he did against USC. If that's how the defense is going to play, the Buckeyes have no shot.
A preseason number-one ranking looks like it could end up going to waste. Ohio State was the preseason favorite to win a national championship. However, a devastating loss to Texas and a very bad performance against the Trojans put their backs against the wall.
Ohio State has a big finish to the season. If they can't win out, heads could roll in the offseason. Day is safe, but several assistants could see their way out if they don't make the CFP.
