With the Buckeyes starting Fall camp, a surprising development came out of camp. Exciting freshman Legend Bey was suspended from practice for a violation of team rules. Ryan Day didn't give an indication of what the violations were or when he could potentially be returning.

Bey was the most exciting freshman on the field during spring practice. He got hurt right before the spring game, so he was not able to show fans what he could do. Now the suspension is a bad start to his career. However, Buckeye fans have gotten news that he won't be gone for long.

Legend Bey's Ohio State career is off to a rocky start

According to Dave Biddle of 247Sports, Bey will only be out for a couple of practices. In fact, he should be back on the field by the weekend. That means that he still has a chance to give a good impression to the coaching staff before games start next month.

For a true freshman, this is the best possible news. Had he been out longer, Bey risked tumbling down the depth chart. As it stands now, he already has Bo Jackson and Isaiah West ahead of him for sure. Ja'Kobi Jackson could be ahead of him with a good start to camp, as well.

With Bey out for the first couple of practices, it gives some other running backs a chance to shine. Turbo Rogers is a young back looking for some real playing time, and he can use Bey's suspension as a chance to surpass him. Bey is supposed to see the field a lot this year.

All three running backs who were hurt in the spring are now fully healthy. Jackson, West, and Bey are all recovered from their injuries. The key thing is to make sure that the Buckeyes keep them healthy to start the season. They will need everyone full speed against Texas in Week 2.

Ohio State has done a lot on the first day of practice

Other than Bey getting suspended, the Ohio State Buckeyes gave the media the first look at what the starting offensive line could look like this year. They had Ian Moore at left tackle and Austin Siereveld at right guard, which was the biggest question coming into the Fall.

Securing the offensive line starters is the biggest roster question Ohio State has. Figuring out the depth at wide receiver will also be something to watch on the offensive end of the field, as they need guys to step up behind Jeremiah Smith. Anyone can still emerge at that spot.

There has been some talk about using Bey as a flex receiver, but those plans might be put on hold now. If he can't participate early in practice or follow team rules, perhaps he can't be trusted to run gadget plays as a freshman. This isn't the best start to his Ohio State football career, but there's hope that this is just a blip on the radar.
